My current work is inspired and influenced by the discipline I learned as a scenic and costume designer. As a theatre artist I am challenged with filling the physical space with form, texture, mass, color, and proportion.
The current art pieces explore manipulating the parameters of a canvas using materials such as linen, silk, hand made paper, brass sheeting, acrylic and oil paint, found objects among other elements and integrating those skills I use as a theatre designer.
Nick Mozak was raised near Chicago where he currently resides. Having worked as a scenic and costume designer in professional and educational Venues nationally, he has for the last 14 years become interested with and produced work in printmaking and mixed media. His expertise in fabric execution and scenic art as well as discernment for repurposing found objects in his current art reflect a unique and eclectic sensibility.
