Patti Kelly

Patti Kelly is primarily an American romantic abstract artist known for her imaginative, tempestuous landscape paintings. Often borrowing from nature, her choice of colors is inspired by the impermanence of New England’s changing seasons. Working in acrylic and watercolor, Kelly builds upon a nebulous surface layered with sensual colors. Using various tools, including palette knives, scrapers, and sticks, her gestural work presents to the viewer an emotionally charged imaginary world.

Patti Kelly is an artist with a vibrant and complex core, who uses color and movement in abstraction to effectively and emotively touch her viewers. Sometimes her marks convey metaphorical storms and other times complete serenity. Like a breeze in nature touching the skin, her work intrinsically resonates with the eyes, floating by with an intentional mood and atmosphere you can see with a satisfaction of understanding it.

Patti Kelly is on the faculty of the Worcester Art Museum as well as the Worcester Public Schools and select private schools in Massachusetts. She attended the School of the Worcester Art Museum and holds a Bachelors of Fine Art from Massachusetts College of Art and Masters in Education from Framingham State University.
