Here we view this group of artists’ interpretation of the concept of escapism, the habitual diversion of the mind to purely imaginative activity or entertainment as an escape from reality or routine. We will see how their art illustrates this concept. In the last year, we are all feeling pressure and change in the world after the seriousness of the still hovering pandemic. Short escapes can bring us temporary relief, a respite and an ability to function with all of these pressures.

The show opens online Feb. 1 and runs until March 30. This was an international call and artists from around the world submitted work. Each submission to this show contributes the the sustainability of Juniper Rag. Thank you to all who have submitted.

ESCAPE is curated by Michelle May and Payal Thiffault of Juniper Rag magazine. Choosing the artwork is a complex process, and with each themed call, the subject matter should fit within the scope of that theme.

Juniper Rag presents these accomplished international artists, who have submitted artwork as an expression of escape and escapism.
